SHOWROOM COLLECTION
This 1989 Yamaha YSR50 is powered by a 49cc two-stroke single paired with a five-speed manual transmission, and its fully-faired bodywork is finished in white and blue. Equipment includes a solo seat, Autolube oil injection, a kick starter, a front disc brake, a rear monoshock, a clear windscreen, clip-on handlebars, 12 wheels, and street lighting. The bike was acquired by us over 20 years ago.
The YSR50’s fully-faired minibike bodywork was modeled after Yamaha’s YZR500 racer, and this example is finished in white and blue with pink and black graphics over a silver frame. Equipment includes a solo seat, a 2.1-gallon fuel tank, a side stand, a clear windscreen, street lighting, and black-finished mirrors.
Blue-painted 12'' wheels wear older 3.50 front and 4.00 rear tires. Suspension consists of a conventional fork as well as a monoshock mounted to the swingarm, and stopping power is provided by a single hydraulic disc brake up front and a drum brake at the rear.
Clip-on handlebars are mounted above the top triple clamp and are equipped with high beam, horn, and turn signal switches on the left and an off/run switch on the right. Instrumentation consists of a 50-mph speedometer with indicator lights and a five-digit odometer showing 1,221 miles. The air-cooled 49cc two-stroke single is equipped with Autolube oil injection, a kick starter, and a black-painted expansion-chamber exhaust system, and it produced 7 horsepower.
Power is sent to the rear wheel through a five-speed transmission and a drive chain.
